La Revista InterCiencias y Tecnología es una plataforma académica de vanguardia que fomenta el intercambio de ideas, el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico y la generación de soluciones innovadoras a través de la publicación de investigaciones originales, revisiones exhaustivas y notas científicas en diversas áreas del conocimiento. Con un enfoque integrador y multidisciplinario, esta revista acoge contribuciones que abordan tanto las ciencias exactas y naturales como las ciencias sociales y humanísticas, promoviendo un diálogo abierto entre disciplinas para enfrentar los desafíos contemporáneos. 

The mission of the National Society of Biotechnology and Engineering (SONABIIN) is to generate, disseminate, and apply knowledge in the fields of Biotechnology, Engineering, and Medicine.

SONABIIN brings together researchers, academics, students, entrepreneurs, government authorities, and civil society organizations concerned with the country's various problems. Each of them contributes their efforts to address the various challenges in the fields of biotechnology, engineering, and medicine, with the goal of achieving harmonious and environmentally sustainable progress.

In 2025, SONABIIN is opting for internationalization by holding its first International Congress. It is an honor to present the Proceedings of the International Congress on Biotechnology, Engineering, and STEM, held virtually (teams) from May 26 to 29. This event brought together researchers, professionals, students, and the general public from various countries with the purpose of sharing the latest advances, fostering the exchange of ideas, and strengthening international collaboration in the fields of biotechnology, engineering, and STEM. Over the four days of activities, participants had the opportunity to attend keynote lectures, roundtables, workshops, and oral presentations, which addressed current topics and discussed the challenges and future prospects of our discipline.

The contributions compiled in these proceedings reflect the richness and diversity of the research presented, as well as the commitment of the scientific community to generating knowledge and applying it for the benefit of society. Each paper has undergone a peer-review process to ensure its quality and academic relevance.

We express our sincere gratitude to the organizing, reviewing, and scientific committees, the sponsoring and collaborating institutions, as well as all the authors and participants who made this conference possible. We trust that this document will serve as a reference and source of inspiration for future research and collaborative projects.
